A Pathway to Teaching Computer Science

High school students in Nebraska are newly required to take a CS class before graduating, creating a growing need for CS educators.  The goal of CS FUTURES is to recruit & train undergraduate pre-service teachers to become CS teachers.  We aim to create flexible pathways to CS certification across community colleges and universities in Nebraska.

The University of Nebraska - Lincoln is partnering with the following colleges to develop this program:

  • University of Nebraska at Omaha
  • University of Nebraska at Kearney
  • Central Community College
  • Metropolitan Community College
  • Mid Plains Community College
  • Northeast Community College
  • Southeast Community College 
  • Western Nebraska Community College
