Overview
Welcome Into Aerospace (WIA) was a group formed three years ago with a main goal of helping people feel included within the club. While not a typical design team, WIA still aims to help members develop various soft and technical skills that can help them both within the club and outside of it. We meet every Friday, our meetings ranging from game nights to help members feel more comfortable and at home within the club, to skill-building activities and challenges, like soldering or 3d-modeling.
In addition to projects, members will participate in various outreach activities and professional development events to allow members to learn from and network with industry speakers. We will provide the opportunity for other forms of professional development to help members grow their resumes and networks, through supplying mentorship and funds to obtain professional licenses, attend industry tours, and potentially attend conferences. The end result of WIA is giving members a support group where they can make friends within engineering who will help them feel welcome and at home at UNL and within the field of Aerospace.
