Temperature 

Temperatures were below normal in the majority of the region. The lowest temperatures were 15°F to 20°F below normal in central and eastern Kansas. The highest temperatures were 5°F to 10°F above normal in a small part of western Wyoming. 

Temperatures in central and southwestern Wyoming, and small parts of northwestern Colorado reached 10°F to 15°F above normal. The hottest temperature was 54°F in Pueblo, Colorado, which is 5°F above normal for the area. The lowest temperatures were 15°F to 20°F below normal in central and eastern Kansas.  

Temperatures in scattered parts of central and eastern Kansas reached 20°F to 25°F below normal. The coldest temperature was -9°F in Grand Forks, North Dakota, which is 6°F below normal for the area, and Fargo, North Dakota, which is 9°F below normal for the area. The highest temperatures were 15°F to 20°F above normal in southeastern Wyoming, with a small area reaching 20°F to 25°F above normal.

Precipitation 

Precipitation amounts varied in the region, ranging from 5 percent of normal in most of Kansas and Wyoming, western and parts of central Colorado, eastern and southern Nebraska, along South Dakota’s eastern and western borders, and scattered parts of central and eastern North Dakota, to 300 percent of normal in Nebraska’s panhandle and parts of western South Dakota. The Apishapa River in Colorado received 1.4 inches of precipitation; most of it fell on the 26th. Drought continues in the region. D0 (abnormally dry) conditions increased from 51 percent to 53 percent. In the region, South Dakota experienced the highest increase in D0 conditions by 5 percent.
