Temperature
Temperatures were above normal in most of the eastern portion of the region while the western portion experienced below normal temperatures. The highest temperatures were 12°F to 15°F above normal in a small area in eastern Kansas. The lowest temperatures were 9°F to 12°F below normal in eastern Wyoming.
Temperatures in southern and northcentral Kansas, southeastern Colorado, northeastern Nebraska, and central and southeastern South Dakota reached 10°F to 15°F above normal. The hottest temperature was 63°F in Medicine Lodge, Kansas, which is 12°F above normal for the area. The lowest temperatures were 5°F to 10°F below normal in parts of western North Dakota, eastern Wyoming, and southwestern Colorado.
Temperatures in parts of western and northcentral Wyoming and a small area of the northwestern corner of the Nebraskan panhandle reached 10°F to 15°F below normal. The coldest temperature was 2°F in Casper, Wyoming, which is 14°F below normal for the area. The highest temperatures were 15°F to 20°F above normal in southeastern Wyoming with a small area reaching 20°F to 25°F above normal.

Precipitation
Precipitation amounts varied in the region, ranging from less than 2 percent of normal in southern and eastern Kansas, eastern Colorado, northern and the center of the Nebraska panhandle, across central and southeastern South Dakota, and northwestern Wyoming, to 400-800 percent of normal in northeastern South Dakota, and across northwestern, central and eastern North Dakota. The Melvern Lake in Kansas received 3.8 inches of precipitation with most falling on the 16th. Drought continues in the region. D0 (abnormally dry) conditions remained the same as the previous week at 60 percent. In the region, South Dakota and Wyoming experienced the highest increase in D0 conditions by 2 percent while Kansas experienced the highest decrease in D0 conditions by 2 percent.
